I am not a morning person, and my first instinct is always to go for a cup of coffee.

The only problem with that is that caffeine isn’t exactly an effective means of lasting energy. Once it wears off it leaves you feeling sluggish and going back to the coffee pot.

We hope this smoothie fixes that!

This smoothie recipe is super simple to throw together, is a sweet welcome into the new day and is flowing with delicious benefits that will give you the boost you need to get going.

AvocadosĀ are the highlight (and for good reason!) because they are filled with healthy fats and antioxidants. The bananas provide a great dose of potassium and the oranges give you a classic boost of vitamin C. This recipe also has a green twist that give it an extra nutritional boost.

Sweet, Creamy Avocado Green Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 large banana, sliced, frozen
  • 1 large orange, peeled, sectioned
  • 1 avocado, halved, pitted, peeled
  • 4 cups torn chard leaves, stems removed
  • 2 cups cold water

 

Instructions:

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and simply puree.
  2. Enjoy!
